A wedding library creates not just a moment in your ceremony, but also a collection of wisdom, love, and connections that you'll treasure for years to come.
Ahead of the wedding, guests are invited to choose a book that represents either their relationship with you or an aspect of your relationship with each other. During the ceremony, these books, each containing a personal inscription or note, are presented as a collection for your very own wedding library.

Guests often make such thoughtful choices - everything from childhood favourites that guests read to you when you were small, to cookbooks from family members sharing treasured recipes, to travel guides for places they hope you'll explore together. Some guests might chose a book of poetry they'd discussed on a first date, or a gardening book because they'd witnessed the couple's love bloom while creating their first garden together.
The ceremony itself can be arranged in different ways. You can have guests bring their books forward during the ceremony, creating a beautiful procession of stories and memories. Alternatively, the books could be collected and displayed as part of your ceremony space, with a special moment dedicated to acknowledging this gift of words and wisdom from your community.
What's particularly great about this ceremony element is how it creates a lasting legacy. The couple will have this library of books, each one holding memories and messages, to explore together throughout their relationship together. Couples might choose to read one book and its inscription each anniversary, or keep the library displayed in their home as a reminder of their wedding day and the community that supports them.
All of these ceremony elements can be beautifully woven into a wedding day, and as your celebrant, I'm here to help you choose and personalise the ones that best reflect your relationship.
